Second Doctor's Appointment

Today I had my second doctor's appointment which wasn't that exciting. I am healthy and gaining weight at the correct rate (so far). Baby's heart beat was 148 today and my blood pressure was suprisingly low at 94/50 - which I guess is healthy, but just seems really low.

Also I got to schedule our ultrasound for finding out the gender. We will find out on Andre's Birthday! January 13, yahoo!

Ultrasound

Today I got my first ultrasound! It was amazing, I can't even describe the feelings once we saw that little one up on the screen. To see my little baby growing inside of me was incredible. Baby was moving so much, yet I couldn't feel a thing. It was sucking it's thumb, waving, kicking, swiggling, everything! The ultrasound technitian said that I am 12 weeks based on the measurements, so not far off from what we originally thought.

First Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday I had my first doctor's appointment. I didn't really know what to expect other than what I had heard (that it would be long). Andrew went with me and we both really like the doctor that we have, she really knows her stuff and is friendly and helpful.

I was a little disappointed to find out that she doesn't think that I am really 11 weeks pregnant, because of the size of my uterus she thinks that I am more like 8 or 9 weeks. Also she wasn't able to locate the heartbeat, which she can usually find between 10-12 weeks. So now I don't have a due date anymore :( However, I do have to go in for an ultrasound :) My appointment is on 11/19 at 8am. I've seen other people's photos of their ultrasounds, but I'm sure it is a lot different when it's your own.

While we were there the doctor offered to set up an appointment for us to get testing to determine if we have a high chance of having a Down Syndrome or Trisomy 18 baby. Then if we are high risk we can go in for another test to determine if our baby actually has one of those. The sad part was when she said that if baby does then we have to decide what to do - "we all think that we would keep it until it happens to us". I'm sure that she has to say that, but it just broke my heart. God will not give us more than we can handle and this is my baby we're talking about here! It makes me cry whenever I think about it. My baby is my baby no matter what.

Telling My Boss

Today was the day, not the day that I plannd to tell my boss Renee, but it just woked out that way. I was in Disney World for the last week and got back to work today. Around 9am Renee pulls me into a meeting room to discuss all the changes that took place while I was gone, since most of them affected me and my job.

I figured while I was in there it would be the perfect time to tell her. So I did, I just said, wel since you're here...I'm pregnant. She was so excited! She knew that I was because I asked for two seperate days off to go to the doctor. She is so happy for me, I feel so great! I was really stressed about telling people at work, but things went really well!

My Baby

Look at my baby! How can people not say that this is a human? (If you hover over the baby you can click play and watch it grow)

Telling the In-Laws

Today my sister-in-law and my nephew came down from Seattle. Andrew and I got off work early so that we could have more say with them. I decided to show her the clothes that my parents got for us when they came down. I brought them out, but at first she wasn't sure why I had them. But the second she figured it out she was so xcited, because now she can be an auntie too :)

Telling my Girlfriends

Last night was really fun because I got to tell my Bible Study group. First I met Angie for dinner and I wasn’t sure how to bring it up, but then we started talking about my sister-in-law’s son and so it came out really easily. She was very excited and happy for Andrew and me.

I wasn’t sure how to tell the remaining girls, but then Anita had put up a really cute video of her son on her blog that she wanted to show everyone. So after we looked at that I decided to show everyone my new blog. It only took a few seconds to figure it out and everyone was really excited for me.

I’m really glad to have all these girls in my life. I’m sure I’ll be pestering them throughout the next several months (and beyond!) because they are the exact kind of people that I will be asking for (and cherishing) advice from.

Thanks to everyone for being so excited for me! I’m pretty nervous, so hearing all the excitement from all of you really helps me to cast my worries aside. Love you all 

Doctor's Appointment

Today I set up my first doctor appointment. I have to take an intake class prior to meeting with my doctor. I'm not entirely sure what that is, but I am going next Tuesday afternoon.

Then I will have my first appointment on 11/7 (which is my bro's b-day) and from what I've heard this is when you get your first ultra sound! I will definately get to hear the heartbeat. I think this will make it seem more real to me being able to hear my little baby.

I'm still not feeling to bad, I'm hungry a lot and my tummy hurts every once in a while. Sometimes I don't even feel pregnant, but I never forget because I am always thinking about it :)

Telling My Parents

Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

We found out yestrday morning, then I went to the doctor that evening just to confirm. I ended up calling my mom in Seattle at midnight asking her to meet us in Centralia the next day. She was, of course, suspicious right away but agreed to talk to my dad in the morning.

The next morning my dad called and offered to drive all the way down here (which I agreed to without hesitation). So when they got here we all sat down and told them that we were going to make them grandparents. They are both so excited. My dad cried because he was so happy (Love you Daddy). Then we all went out and bought a few little things for baby. It was a great day and I'm sure worth the trip :)

We Just Found Out!

So yesterday Andrew and I just found out that we are expecting a little baby on May 28th 2009. We are both really excited and can hardly wait for these next 7 months or so to fly by. I was initially shocked as we haven't been trying for too long, but it's very exciting.

So far I am feeling really good, I'm pretty tired, but that is probably just ue to a busy schedule. So far the only smell that bothers me is guacamole, and I really crave chocolate ice cream and chicken (not together).

My parents just came down today to see us and are very excited! It was great to have them down and be able to tell them in person right away.
