34 Weeks and counting...

34 Weeks and I'm now off my semi-bedrest! I'm hoping that she'll hang in there for a few more weeks...of course after all this fiasco she's going to be late :)

Here we are at the Tuplip Festival

Ady's First Shower

Last weekend, thanks to lots of my friends, we had Ady's first baby shower! There were a lot of people there and everyone was really generous! Thank you to everyone that came!

I had another doctor's appointment today. It is really great to know that our little angel is doing so well! She measured in at 2lbs 13oz.

I had my cervix measured again and it shrunk almost an entire centimeter! Now it's 1.7cm, but my Doctor said that's what she expected and just wants me to contiue doing nothing after work and on the weekends. Phew.

My manager is so understanding and she took me off of outside claims so I won't have to go out on any losses until I get back from maternity leave.

I am so thankful that our little girl is so healthy and happy! Now I just need to find a pediatrician.

Test Results

Wow I was so nervous today when I got a message from my doctor’s office. She said that they wouldn’t call unless it was bad news. But when I called back she said that I have just slightly low iron levels, I’m not anemic though, which is great! I just have to eat more iron rich foods than I have been. She also said that my glucose levels are normal! I wasn’t too worried about that, but it’s always good to know for sure  Now I think I’ll go have a milkshake!

No Bedrest!

Today I went to the doctor. First I had my ultra sound and they told me that I my cervix was measuring the same length. That made me worry, but Andrew was with me and helped me to calm down until we saw the doctor.

In between appointments I had to down that nasty glucose drink! They said it would taste like Sprite, but it was gross!

Dr. Stull was really excited when she came in because although my cervix didn't grow, it also didn't shrink. She did an exam last time and everything was fine at that point. This time she said that my cervix is just naturally shorter than most, but that's just how I'm made and my body can handle it.

She is keeping me on reduced activity for the remainder of my pregnancy, and will examine me again in two weeks, but I won't have to go on bedrest! Yahoo!

I had my glucose test today to, she said if I don't hear from them by Wednesday then I can go eat a Sundae because they go by the "no news is good news" philospohy.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers!

Scary Moments

I went to the doctor on Thursday and I knew something was wrong when I my ultra sound technician told me that I had a short cervix and, after leaving to go talk to the ultra sound doctor, told me that I had to go see my own doctor.

After waiting for an hour I requested to see another doctor as mine was ultra busy! But as soon as I was in the room my doctor ran over and informed that she had to be the one to see me, so that threw up even more red flags.

By the time that she got there an hour later I was exhausted and nervous. She told me that the length of my cervix is 0.5cm short, which puts me in the category for high risk of pre-term labor and in two weeks I have to go back to determine if I should be on bed rest. I didn't even know what to think or say at that point, I'll have my next appointment in two weeks and we'll go from there.

I am so grateful for all the family and friends that have been supporting me through this. My mom and two of my nurse friends (Heather and Rachel) have really been a great support giving me advice and helping me gain a better understanding of what this means. Thank you to everyone.

It's a Girl!

Today Andrew and I went in to get our 20 week ultra sound. We were able to see our little baby GIRL!! I am amazed at the technology and how much the techs can see. Our little angel is very healthy and growing properly. They weren't able to see the spine because of how she was positioned so I have to go in next month for another ultra sound. But everything looks good! Check out her little feets

Andrew and I are so excited and are starting to think pink!
